Free, youth 10-24 only*
Thursday, July 12th, 2-9pm
Our “Pride: Interpretations from Queer Youth” exhibition opens TOMORROW, but the 8 pieces aren’t *quite* finished! (they’re in varying stages! they all look cool so far though!)
We invite any LGBTQIA2S+ youth to come in and hang with us ALL DAY today and work on them! Let’s get these babies finished!!!
More info about the show":
“PIFQY is a collaborative, 8 piece, mixed media art show by LGBTQIA2S+ youth in Marrow’s community, facilitated by Marrow collective members Momo and Teddy.
Each of the 8 pieces was assigned a color scheme and and theme from the original Pride flag’s 8 colors and their corresponding color meanings. The pieces were up for June (pride month!), for any LGBTQIA2S+ youth to come in, take off the wall, and work on - and now the finished pieces are on display!
"We feel that Pride month has been overrun with capitalism and so to take away from that we want to create a place for youth to work on art that is focused on Pride month and the history of the flag." - Marrow collective members and exhibition facilitators Momo and Teddy. “
