Marrow's monthly volunteer day!
This month we'll be doing the usual clean-up of the space, but we're also looking for folks who have experience building garden beds out of deconstructed pallets! By the end of the volunteer day we're hoping to have:
- A diagramed layout of our garden area (including bed dimensions and locations, with desired plant species for each)
- A list of how many pallets, and what other materials we will need
- A list of desired plants
- A timeline for building the beds
The planning process will be led by members of our youth collective, but we're really hoping to get some community (and adult!) support on this! If you have experience and would like to lend a hand in any part of the project, please come out! We're hoping to build both ground-level beds, and raised wheelchair-accessible beds.
If there's extra time after planning, or extra hands, we'll be prepping the exterior space for building and planting!
If you want to brainstorm other projects and ways to be involved we’re down for that too!
Our volunteer days are open to all ages, but we especially encourage adults in our community to show up for our youth, who typically pull a lot of the weight around here! Bring a friend or two!!! It’s always a good time, and you may even make some new friends!
*Enrollment and sign in are not required for this event.
Enrollment (open only to folks 10-24) is required for the majority of our programming. If you're a young person and plan to come back, you should enroll! For more details check out our enrollment page!
