Gardening Club: Ivy Removal
Free, all ages*
Wed. June 6th, Thurs. June 7th, & Sat. June 9th 10a-3p
Let's tear out the ivy along our building, where our garden will go!
This meeting of Marrow's gardening club is open youth (10-24), as well as adult allies!
We're also hoping some folks can bring (or lend us):
- Thick garden/work gloves.
- Any tools that will assist in ripping out the ivy (heavy duty clippers, metal shovels, etc)
- Sturdy garbage bags.
- Transportation and/or funds for removal (to the dump, or folks willing to take it elsewhere).
The folks over at City Farm will also hopefully be dropping off a metal planter and some plants on this day, as well, if folks want to help with that! There is also some general weeding to be done around other parts of our gardening space!
*If you plan to lend a hand with the ivy, please note that it collects and entangles trash from the street/sidewalk, and there is a needle exchange across the street from Marrow. We can't currently see what's in the ivy, so volunteers will need to be conscious and careful while pulling it out.
**Enrollment is not required for this event. There will be a required sign-in.
Enrollment (open only to folks 24 and under) is required for the majority of our programming. If you're a young person and plan to come back, you should enroll! For more details check out our enrollment page!
