Queer & Trans Intergenerational Art Gathering (all ages)

Queer & Trans Intergenerational Art Gathering

  • Free*

  • All Ages

  • Sunday, December 16th, 5-7pm

A new, monthly gathering of queer & trans folx of all ages, for skill sharing, community building, friend making; a space to just create with other queer & trans creatives!

Bring things to work on if you have projects going, or just bring yourself, and start something new! We'll have snacks and art supplies.

Assuming folks are interested, we'll continue hosting these once a month (on the second Sunday)! If the group is consistent, there are hopes to start community projects such as a mural, educational flyers, getting involved with musicians to create merch, etc!

Community agreements via the organizer. [Image description: a handwritten poster with flowers and the following text in various colors: COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS - We acknowledge that this event is taking place on stolen land from the Multnomah and Clackamas Native Peoples. We honor the ancestors of these people's past, present, & future. - Consent is mandatory, ask before you act. (Be prepared to accept 'no') (Example: may I hug you?) - The safety of BIPOCs (black/Indigenous/people of color) in this space is a priority. NO tolerance for white supremacy. (Note: BIPOC guests are not here to educate/perform emotional labor) (Unless they want to.. but don't assume.) - No police, no police sympathizers! We will continue to work to dismantle the prison-industrial complex, not legitimize it. - Fatphobic, femmephobic, anti semetic, ableist, transphobic, racist, or any other oppressive behaviors are not welcome here (or anywhere)! - Don't assume pronouns, ask! - Reminder to always check your privilege(s)! - Agreements by: Alex, Cameron, Fox, Samson]

It's really important to and for our youth that they be surrounded by rad adults who are down to show up for them. This gathering is adult-organized and ALL AGES(!), we hope that folks 25+ will continue to center the youth who are in our space, and be conscious of their autonomy and needs.

If you have questions feel free to reach out to us at info@marrowpdx.org or the event organizer Alex (they/them) at alex.reyn30@gmail.com

*Donations from adult allies are always appreciated!

Enrollment is not required but there will be a mandatory sign-in! Youth who plan to be regularly involved at Marrow are encouraged to enroll. For more details check out our enrollment page!
