Every other Monday in May & June, 4-6pm
(May 1st, 15th, 29th & June 12th, 26th)
with final showcase Fri. June 30th, 6:30pm
Alternating Mondays have an open free-write period.

$5 per session or $20 for full series for a la carte teens (free for students/members)*

Workshop hours are 4-6pm but the space will be open an hour before (at 3pm) and an hour after (until 7pm) for anyone who wants to meet with the facilitator, Briauna, get more work done, share, socialize, or collaborate.

Are you interested in written or spoken word, Slam poetry, theater, lyric writing, activism, or performance based expression?

Learn about poetic process, tackle performance fears, and learn how to express your emotions into honest, audience captivating art. This series is 5 weeks of drastically different, structure and pressure-free exploration of written word and performance.

Activities will include typewriting, watching films on musicians and poets, group discussions, collaborative pieces, free-writes, classical responses, listening to and discussing lyrically focused music, forest exploration, and creating your own journal for use during and after the sessions.

Group participation encouraged but never forced, peer based feedback focusing on positive critique.

Participants will collaborate with series facilitators to create their own literary zine, and to organize an open mic/final showcase to share their work with Marrow’s community.

*All teens participating in Marrow programming must register as "a la carte", "student", or "member" - for more details check out our registration page! You can register online in advance, or at Marrow. Please note: no teen will ever be turned away from Marrow for lack of funds.
