The Urban League is offering Blackberry stories, a free ten week creative art group designed for Black and Brown middle and high school youth. Youth will have the opportunity to discuss topics around racial trauma, being Black and Brown in Portland, justice and the future. At the end of the ten weeks, youth will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a pop up gallery and performance for their community.
Participants will practice different forms of art such as rap, spoken word, photography, comics, African dancing, candle making, and more.
The Blackberry Stories is free and will provide teens with free food and bus tickets for each meeting. No prior art experience is required. To learn more or to sign up email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 971-207-3489
