Guerrilla Art

Guerrilla Art Class

$5-20 sliding scale

Saturdays 1-3pm, Jan. 9 through Feb 6 (5 classes)

Led by Daylynn Lambi

Guerrilla art has its roots in graffiti, and includes art that is placed anonymously in public places with the intent of making a statement about that specific space or the people who use and inhabit it. During this class we will learn about the history of guerrilla art, look at and discuss examples of guerrilla works, explore the social purposes it can serve (what can be said using guerrilla art? how, where, and why is it effective? can art change the viewpoint of someone who sees it?) - then create and install our own individual or collaborative guerrilla art pieces in St Johns. This class would be great for anyone who is interested in art and/or exploring new ways to make a statement or tell a story. No art experience required!
