We recognize that pressing a “donate” button can be a bummer, and that sometimes it’s nice to do something different, or amplified! Here are some creative ways other folks have contributed:
One of our neighbors was heading to Costco, and sent us an Instagram message first, asking if we needed anything! (We did! We go through a lot of toilet paper!)
Do you shop at Fred Meyer? Link Marrow to your Fred Meyer Rewards card (this doesn’t cost you, or take away from your fuel or rewards points!) through their “Community Rewards” program!
Do you shop on Amazon? Shop through Amazon Smile with Marrow as your selected charity!
OOAK Forge (another of our neighbors!) did a fundraising auction on his Instagram, where he auctioned off one of his forged knives. Folks would comment their bid, and then he donated the auction profits to Marrow! The knife sold for more than it would usually, because people were stoked to support, and because his in-stock items sell quickly!
Rx Skulls prints sticker “gang runs” (lots of artists, one color way), and does an annual charity gang run where all the profits are donated to a nonprofit! It was Marrow in 2018!
The Falafel House food truck had a day where they donated their profits to Marrow! Our community all came and hung out and bought food!
Finger Bang Portland was having a celebration for the opening of their Division Street Salon, and charged $10 a head at the door, and donated it to us!
Virtuous Pie PDX hosted a building-wide party at the Jimmy’s Tire Annex, where they donated a portion of their day’s sales to Marrow, had Marrow youth playing live music! Other businesses had pop-ups, and collected zines for our library!
When Comic Cave had their St Johns location, they put out a donation can for Marrow, and encouraged customers to donate their change after purchases!
Lots of local businesses have donated raffle prizes! We host a lot of raffles here!
